Lesley Jackson is an artist and designer making objects that are simultaneously functional and poetic. Her work seeks to reconcile our casual relationship to material culture by framing, containing, and creating special events around everyday objects. By repurposing found materials, designing around fragments of nature, and creating altar-like spaces for mundane things, we are invited to psychologically transform our relationship to everyday objects, turning our "stuff" into gifts from the Earth.
Lesley received her BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2013. Her most recent exhibitions include Murmrus Gallery (Las Angeles, CA), Andrew Rafacz Gallery (Chicago, IL), Greenlease Gallery (Kansas City, MO), Hotel Art Pavilion (New York, NY), Bar4000 (Chicago, IL), Efrain Lopez Gallery (Chicago, IL), Chicago Artist Coalition (Chicago, IL), Forth Ward Project Space (Chicago, IL), Heaven Gallery (Chicago, IL), and NADA Art Fair with Hotel Art Pavilion (2018) and SPF15 (2016).
