Paulina Perez Alcantara is a fashion designer based in Saltillo, Mexico. The Zagalejo and Malena sweaters are hand made from start to finish. Between knitting and embroidering, approximately 60 hours are invested in each garment. Their construction features a variety of knitting stitches, and their colors come from natural dyes like annatto seeds, pine cones, and turmeric.
The main source of inspiration for these designs were the great Mexican Escaramuzas – women of strong and independent character often featured in 1940's Mexican films.
Made in Mexico of 100% artisanal wool.
