Crema Amazónica is an anhydrous (no water) handcrafted body butter inspired by Charlene's grandmother's knowledge of ingredients found in the Amazon of Bolivia.
Charlene Adams is proud to share her culture in a tangible way, which is why she made “Crema Amazonica”. In the Amazon it was not as simple as purchasing products, you needed to make them yourself, which is what her great grandmother did. Survival in that region is almost impossible unless you have the knowledge and necessary skills. Her great grandmother could not read or write, and yet she spoke multiple dialects and knew the value and usage of the plants and animals of the Amazon.
Charlene Adams is an American-Bolivian Artist whose interest lies in intersecting the two cultures through interactive education and exposure. She creates functional products that are inspired by her heritage in the Bolivian Amazon.
