Each vessel was hand-built from white stoneware clay and intricately carved with two motifs used frequently in Kaitlin Smrcina’s work. The vessels were fired, glazed, fired again, then painted with oils to achieve precise hues. To refine the colors, each vessel receives 2-3 coats of paint. Once dry, each vessel is treated to a satin finish top coat.
Each vessel was glazed with “eggshell” on the inside so it may function as a vase.
*Do not wash the exterior of the vase. If dust forms or water gets on the exterior, a clean, dry rag is preferred for wiping down the vessel.
